Holy Molars!

Kayden had a rough night the other night (up for 4 hours screaming!) - and he has not woken in the night in the last year and a half! So we knew something was wrong with him. He didn't have a fever and seemed to be fine when I held him but once I put him down, he would immediately stand up and scream again. So it was a pretty restless night for all of us. I took him to the dr the next day because he still didn't want to nap well and I wanted to make sure that he wasn't coming down with something. Well the dr gave him a clean bill of health......but found that his top two 2-year molars had broken thru and the bottom two were close to coming thru! On top of that, he just cut his bottom incisors a couple weeks ago. So Kayden is basically getting SIX teeth in at one time - poor baby.... I'd cry too!! We gave him a little ibuprofin and he has been sleeping much better and feeling better. Let's hope those bottom two break thru soon and we will be DONE with teeth!!!

BuDDieS!!

Kayden had a playdate with his buddies Cael and Paige - and he did such a good job sharing his toys with them!! Here they are sitting on the little 'couch' playing together -so cute! And then they found the Mr. Potato Head parts and had a great time! Here is Paige - isn't she adorable??! She's almost exactly a year younger than Kayden (maybe a future girlfriend??)......

Family Gathering

We took a trip this weekend to my sister's house to get together with my family. Kayden had a great time playing with all his cousins! Here he is playing hide and seek with Daddy.... Kayden hanging out with his cousins....Anne, Amy, Jenna, Tanner, Jordan and Kayden.

I'd like to start this post out by saying that I am NOT actively trying to potty-train Kayden however in the last couple weeks he has been telling us that he has to go potty and wants to sit on the potty chair so we let him. And while he does NOTHING while he sits there, he sits there patiently! So last night he told me he had to go potty so I took him upstairs to his bathroom and got him undressed to sit on his chair. While we were there I thought "what the heck, let's take a bath while we are in here!" So I ran his bath water for him and when that was done, I told him it was time to get in the tub. (In the meantime, while his water was running, I kept asking him if he was done and he told me 'no') He stood up to get in the tub and I noticed that he had pottied in the chair - I was soooo excited and praised him and he got all excited!!! It was sooo cute!! Now I'm assuming this was probably b/c the bath water was running (and who doesn't feel the need to go when they hear running water) but I'll take it however I can get it! Go Kayden - I'm so proud of you!!!

Some Sunshine from TeXaS

My dad and his family came to visit us last week and it was so nice to see them! We hadn't seen my dad since the car accident in June (and he's looking great!) and we hadn't seen Laura and the boys in a long time!! So it was nice to have them over and visit with us. Kayden enjoyed playing with Grandpa Ken's phone (it's one he hasn't seen before and apparently so much more fun than the ones he has already)And this was the first time Kayden got to meet Laura - he took to her instantly! They brought a fun new Christmas toy for Kayden - a fire truck!! He loved riding around on it (and a good way to chase the dogs!) and it is now one of his favorite toys.

Here are the boys hanging out -they actually all smiled for me (well everyone but Kraig, but hey, 3 out of 4 ain't bad!) That's Brandon, Ryan and Austin.
