Happy Birthday Cousin LANDRY!

We went to Sunset Pool today for Cousin Landry's birthday party and had a fun time - we hadn't been to that pool before but it was a lot of fun - they have a great toddler area!! Kayden loved climbing the castle and sliding into the water! Of course, I didn't get ANY pictures of him in the water b/c I was too busy playing with him :) but here is the birthday girl.....and Kayden enjoying his cupcake and hanging out with Cousin Devyn! Happy Birthday Landry! We love you!

MoVe oVeR MiCKeLSoN.......

We took Kayden to Pottawatomie Park yesterday to play mini-golf - he had such a good time!!! This was his first time golfing (outside of our backyard) and got his first lessons from Daddy! Daddy showed him the proper way to stand and hold the club..... ....he got ready to hit..... ......and then it went in!!!! He was so excited - yea Kayden!!!!

Bye Bye Diapers!

Kayden is such a BIG boy now!! We have been potty training for the last week and a half now and it has been going great!! He has only had a couple accidents and every time has told us immediately and went to finish on the potty. We are working on getting him to tell us when he has to go - not just going when WE tell him it's time. Last night and today, he told us a couple times that he had to go - so I'll take it - it's definitely progress! He is LOVING his big boy Mickey Mouse underwear and cries if we try to put a pull-up on him (which is only for nighttime and daycare - and he wears it over his underwear for daycare).
In the last week, he has had TWO nights where he stayed dry all night - very impressive! And he has been dry during naps for the last couple weeks. Hopefully we can get all the kinks worked out and be all set by the time the baby comes. :)
It is definitely nice not changing diapers/pull-ups all day long (and not paying for them too!!) - I can't believe how quickly my little baby is growing up.

Jeeps and School Buses and Swings.....Oh My!

We went to Cael and Paige's house today to play and Kayden had so much fun checking out all their toys! He got to drive their school bus....... Cael took him for a ride in his Jeep (look at Kayden's arm propped up on the side of the car - so cute!!)..... LOVED the Jeep ride!
Then we went to the park - Kayden got to swing (which is his FAVORITE!!) with Paige....aren't they cute? :)
and Cael and Kayden got to chase each other around the playground! We had such a great day - thanks for letting us come and play!

{All Aboard}

We took a train ride downtown this week because Kayden needed to have some testing done and we figured it would be easier than sitting in traffic. This was Kayden's FIRST train ride and he LOVED it!! He was so excited to sit on the train and watch everyone and everything out the window. And when the train whistle blew, he was in heaven! On the ride home, our train car became less and less full as passengers got off so Kayden enjoyed playing in the extra seats and 'hiding' from Mommy and Aunt Jodi! (Don't worry, it was when the train was stopped!) Thank you Aunt Jodi for coming downtown with us - we love you!!

Our little HAM

Auntie Missy sent me this photo today that she took of Kayden while we were at the lake - I just had to share it because it is the cutest picture!! He is actually smiling without his eyes being scrunched shut! :) We LOVE our little ham!!!

Lake Fourteen 4th of July

We spent the holiday week at Kraig's parents' house in Northern Minnesota and had such a great time!
Kayden LOVED Grandma and Grampsy's swings.....and chillin' in the hammock with Daddy....We went on a boat ride with Grampsy and Kayden had so much fun cruising around the lake....The water trampoline was also a big hit with Kayden - the weather was gorgeous and we spent every day in the lake! Grampsy gave Kayden swim lessons while we were there and he did such a good job! It's amazing what he will do for Grampsy but not for Mommy and Daddy.....Every swim 'session' he had to start out by asking Grampsy if he could come into the water.....he floated on his back.... blew bubbles.... practiced kicking....
and loved EVERY minute with Grampsy!!
Kayden also got to experience his FIRST sauna - he LOVED it in there!! (and yes, he has fruit snacks in his hand.....) He enjoyed throwing the water on the rocks to make it steam!
Enjoying a little downtime with Daddy.....The ducks came by every day (multiple times) and Kayden LOVED watching them, feeding them, chasing them, just being near them!!We went to Kraig's aunt and uncle's house in Ely on the 4th to watch the fireworks. Although we had to keep Kayden up about 4 hours past his bedtime, he did really well! Uncle Jed gave him some cars to play with and he was in heaven!
Waiting for the fireworks to start....
...but not such a big fan of them! Kayden decided the fireworks were WAY too loud and had to cover his ears every time they went off! We finally went inside and enjoyed them thru the window. If you tell him now that the fireworks are coming, he immediately covers his ears!! There was a 4th of July parade at Grandma and Grampsy's house and Kayden got to wear his hat that he made at daycare- isn't it the cutest?! It's about as tall as he is!Waving at the parade as it comes down the street (we told him he had to wave in order to get candy!)Collecting his candy.....Showing off his loot.....
Hanging out with Daddy and Mommy...
We also went blueberry picking with Grampsy and Cousin Myranda! Kayden enjoyed it for all of about 10 minutes and then was done with it but it was hard to blame him, the bees were flying around everywhere and it was hilly and rocky terrain and about 90 degrees out with no wind! But we did collect enough blueberries for Grandma to make a very yummy pie!!
Kayden and Cousin Connor fighting for Grampsy's attention! These two gave each other a run for their money this week. If one of them had Grampsy's attention, the other HAD to have it as well. If Grampsy picked up one, the other INSISTED on being picked up as well. It was actually really funny and cute to watch!
Thank you Grandma and Grampsy for an awesome week - we had such a great time and can't wait to come back up again!
